about

A wistful lament on the passing of time and how it transfigures love into a landscape of emotions. I wrote it on my cracked Goya classical guitar (bought for $20 in a thrift shop) heard on the recording. The track was recorded/co-produced/mixed by Alex DeGroot at Seahorse Sound Studio during the same album sessions for Desyre.

lyrics

I comb my fingers through my lover's hair
his greying hair
and I wanna gather all the years
in my hands
like sand
falling in the hourglass
falling in the hourglass
falling in the hourglass...

Or like fool's gold
in a sieve, that I'll weave
so tightly
nothing will pass but light
nothing will pass but light
nothing will pass but life.

Oh how the minutes pass
so quickly by
I wanna see, the land
I wanna see, the land and oceans
our love's become
glimmering, and woven of time.
